App & settings

Install ROK like a real app, turn the ads off, and switch the theme.

Can I install ROK as an app?

Yes — ROK is a progressive web app, so it installs to your home screen or desktop with its own window and icon. Open Settings and use the "Install app" card; on Android and desktop Chromium it launches the browser's install dialog. On iPhone and iPad Safari there's no install prompt to trigger, so the card shows the exact Share → "Add to Home Screen" steps instead.

Can ROK tell me when a long reply finishes?

Yes. Settings has a notify-on-turn-complete switch that raises a browser notification when a response is done — useful when you've sent a tool-heavy request and gone to do something else.

It's per device, and your browser's notification permission still applies, so allow notifications when it asks. You can revoke it any time in your browser's site settings.

Why do I see ads, and how do I turn them off?

Ads are what keep ROK free for everyone — no paywall, no subscription. They appear as small in-page notifications and never block the chat.

If you'd rather not see them, open Settings and turn on "Remove ads" in the Ads section. It's per device and applies from the next page load.

How do I change how ROK looks?

Settings → Appearance has two themes. Default is the current look; Legacy restores the first version of ROK — the dark-red palette with the Sora and IBM Plex Mono fonts. The choice is saved per device.
